The greatest influence on our future generation is first the parents, second school/teachers and in a close third; media and law. Sadly, church is far behind. Our children will spend thousands of hours in their childhood and teenage years behind a desk being taught world-views and what’s true about our world. Simply put, we need more Christian, Bible believing, teachers that influence our next generation.

It's been said, "Today, the new pastors are professors." Today, across America thousands of teachers take the podium to share their doctrine upon our youth and college students. These minds are actively being shaped and molded by men and women who either profess faith in Christ, or others who hold to an undefined truth about life, humanity and God. We need light of Christ to shine brighter than ever to illuminate the truth of God to our culture. Today we need to train future teachers who are grounded upon the Truth to speak life into our future generations to the glory of God.

The Leah Jane and Evelina Grace Memorial Endowment has been created with the purpose of supporting future teachers who will influence the next generation with the love of Christ. Leah Jane and Evelina Grace were Bible believing women who shaped their family because of their faith and love for the Lord. Both women followed Christ to the end, valued education and believed that these things could never be taken from you. To honor their values the Ekstrand Family has created an endowment scholarship in memorial. Through this honorable endowment Jessup and the Ekstrand family is making Christ-centered higher education for our future teachers more affordable and accessible. More Christ-like teachers/professors will be transformed and sent in the field to make a difference in our culture.

Once the fund is endowed it will distribute a minimum scholarship of $1,000 in perpetuity to our future teachers at Jessup.
